Lucy's piano teacher, who is also the head of the recycling and litter control department for the county, had her students play a little Christmas concert for the residents of a local rest home. It was very nice. There were cookies.
Here is the pretzel she was talking about. Each color represents a different branch of government. I guess the fourth estate is represented by the cord that allows you to hang the pretzel from your neck.
for those of you that don't like Brad Paisley, here is something a bit different. I could go on and on about this song, this movie and the Blue Hearts, but I won't. If you are really interested wait until we meet in person and have a couple of beers. Oh the stories I will tell.
This version is from the movie. I think I like it better. Here are the lyrics for those that care: Do-bun ne zu-ni Mita-ini Utsukushiku nari-tai Sya-shi-n-niwa utsuranai Utsuku-shisa-ga aru-kara
Linda Linda (X2)
Moshi-mo Boku-ga itsuka Kimi-to deai hanshi aunara Sonna tokiwa do-ka Ai no Imi-(w)o Shit-te kuda-sai
Linda Linda
Do-bun ne zu-ni Mita-ini Dare-yorimo yasa-shii Do-bun ne zu-ni Mita-ini Na-niyouimo Ata-ta-kaku
Linda Linda
Moshi-mo Boku-ga itsuka Kimi-to deai hanshi aunara Sonna tokiwa do-ka Ai no Imi-(w)o Shit-te kuda-sai
Here is one translation... there are others I wanna be beautiful like a water rat He's got beauty you can't see in a picture
Linda Linda
*If I see you and have a talk Please catch the meaning of love
Linda Linda
Just like a water rat, nicer than anyone else Just like a water rat, warmer than anyone else
Linda Linda
*If I see you and have a talk Please catch the meaning of love
Even though it may not be love, I'll never leave you I'll get power, the only power nothing can beat
Finally, here are the Blue Hearts with their original version of the song. If, after listening to the J-Pop jangling of the girls, you thought this song wasn't punk enough, just hit play on this one.
These are from the last two days. Lucy growing up has been on my mind a lot. Yoga seems to be centering me during a time of stress and chaos. How are you?
This is an older song - 2003 I think. I just discovered in no a CD I got for my birthday - 50th I think. Ever since I was a country music DJ I always thought there should be a distinction between what I call the "Pop Country" genre and real country music. I think this might qualify as a crossover between those two. At any rate it is an almost perfect country song.
We keep our letter short. Most years that's a simple thing to do. We don't do much. We used to change Lucy's diapers, now we don't even do that anymore.
They can't all be funny. In real life, I watched the Browns game myself. I rode my bike trainer for the entire second half. Nice workout, horrible game.
