My Buddy Dirk
What you may not know is that my buddy Dirk over in Germany has a Friday night radio show. That's right, in addition to both of us having daughters named Lucy we both have a relationship with Marconi's folly.
Here is an Alta Vista Translation of his latest blog post before his most recent Friday night show:
"And again is one week over - and again it is called BSEplus on the frequencies of the OKN. One, how quickly the time passes?! These seven days seemed to me like one week - fascinating!
"Fortunately there is again something beautiful on the ears in this transmission. Which exactly, one reads in these Playlist:
* Omarion - Ice Box
* Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone
* Shaun Baker - Bakerman
* 2Raumwohnung - Besser geht's nicht
* Ich & ich - Vom selben Stern
* Shakespeare's Sister - Hello
* Infernosounds & Friends - Kind der Sonne
* Roger Cicero - Ich atme ein
* Catnap - The Sound Of Speed
* DJ Porny - Me So Horny
* Depeche Mode - Rush
* Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry
* Goleo VI - All Together Now
* Jan Delay - Türlich türlich (live)
* Arctic Monkeys - Flourescent Adolescent
"And thematically? What does one get to hear?? Naja, it goes being able to be surprised around halfnaked Kubaner on the Avus, trommelnde Trucker and... there should one and best switch on - tomorrow from 10 to 11 on the OKN. Because: to switch off can do you elsewhere!"
Fortunately, Dirk speaks and writes excellent English. These translators really don't work. He's a great guy, though, I can tell that without speaking German.
Come on he played a song called "Omarion" it has to be about Ohio, right?

A view of Marion
This is kind of long and the sound is horrible, but this is the best description of Marion, Ohio that has ever been posted on YouTube.
Give it a chance, the girl is cute and the guy is clever.

Vacation looms
Mary and Lucy head off for New York today. My plan is to catch up with them on Friday.
Trip plans include a mountain climb in the Adirondacks and the Can-Am Rugby Tournament in Saranac Lake.
So, we are off to Chateaugay ... just, not together.

Saturday morning
The doc says Lucy can do some light swimming today and that she looks like she is improving. She is absolutely bonkers from staying in the house for a week.
This video isn't my usual creepy crap, this is ... sweet?

Where have I been?
Lucy got her tonsils out one week ago today and she seems to be doing fine. Her throat is still a little sore but she is ready to get out of the house and run around. Hopefully we will have a fun weekend. We are going to a birthday party Saturday and to see a stage play of "The Wizard of Oz" on Sunday.
Here is something I found the other day that really cracked me up.

Too Much Joy
Brother Mike was trying to think of the name of this band the other day. I hadn't thought of looking what they had on YouTube. I was pleased to find this.

I thought the part that said "Man + Woman = Baby" was a little dirty, but also a little arousing.

Great recipe. The commentary was hilarious!

Parachute Ride
The Parachute Ride at the Saint Peter's Bazaar in Plattsburgh. Lucy rode twice. I shot it from the outside. On the second ride she shot from the inside. In her excitement she shouts out "Grandma and Grandpa!" She meant Daddy and Grandma. It is usually other people that mistake me for her grandfather.
How I Spent My Summer Vacation: Part 1
This is a view from my Brother-in-law's property on the Narrows at Chateaugay Lake.
